Bagley B Flat Series

The B Flat line of lures was an ever popular secret of the pros. Anyone who has fished in reasonably clear waters has noticed that when baitfish become disoriented they sometimes roll up on to their side. When this occurs, they lose the natural camouflage that their body color offers during the bright light of day. Adult bass have learned to not hesitate when this phenomenon takes place, and they tend to violently attack when they can easily see their prey. The aerodynamics of the B Flat lures when twitched, or banged into a piece of cover, perfectly mimicked a disoriented baitfish. Shallow or deep, monster bass were helpless to resist the Pavlovlian response elicited by the erratic behavior of these lures.

The lead in lip diving bill was only manufactured on the B Flat 2 for a couple of years, ending around 1981. The lure was manufactured without the diving lip for several years before being reintroduced in later years with a reinforced lip. The shallow running B Flat was consistent through out the years with it's square bill. Some time after 1980, the sinking B Flat 2 appeared with it's rounded bill.
