Trading Post

I now have "The Colors of Bagley's" webstore, ProFishCo, up and running, where I am offering very hard to find Bagley lures for sale, or trade, in many of the most popular models offered by the Bagley Bait Co. when they were located in Winter Haven, Florida. You can find contact info below if you would like to try to work out a trade. I will always have something to offer in hard to find colors/models at ProFishCo that would be of interest to most any Bagley fanatic. All items are priced to include free shipping and insurance.

I personally attach more value to lures that are new in the package, which is reflected in the prices at both, ProFishCo, and my eBay store. You will find that with all collectible lures the packaging is an important part of the overall value. I don't think it's uncommon for some boxes on the older Creek Chub and Heddon lures, among others, to be almost as valuable as the lure itself. Since most lure companies, particularly Bagley, changed their package designs every few years, you can usually determine the age of the lure by it's container.

For a lure to become valuable as a collectible, it is essential that it is no longer in production. Many Bagley collectors have drawn a "line in the sand", with the beginning of manufacturing in the Dominican Republic as the cutoff date for collectibility. Since many interesting new colors were introduced overseas, a dilemma was created for color collectors wanting only lures which are considered collectible. It can be very difficult telling the difference between Dominican and Florida made lures. Of course, the easiest way to age a lure is if it is still in it's original package, since starting in the mid 70's, Bagley began packing baits in blister packs, leaving no doubt as to their age or authenticity if the plastic bubble has not been breached. I have included an entire page dedicated to learning how to identify Dominican lures that aren't new in the pack.

You can contact me at: mauddib.auctions@gmail.com if you have any questions. Visit ProFishCo often, as I will continue to update the section with rare lures for sale or trade.
